Lit circle reflection

One of the benefits for working with a partner is that you are able to discuss and compare your responses to the questions and responses. You may even find mistakes in your answer and you can tell each other about and what will improve your grade. You can also learn a different way of looking passages in the book which will help you expand your knowledge for the book.  You could learn about collaborating with each other which help get along with others later on another projects. I would also say that people have less to explain and the partner will explain it in a different way which might the part you missed. They will be able to remind each other to stay on task and remember certain talking about the book. You can also problem solve with each other about problems that occurs in the book.

Some of the obstacles that we overcame are that we had to agree on who was going to create the page and who was going to share it. We also had to agree on what day that we were going to check what our group members have written. I have to also read over my group member writing and make sure there are no mistakes. I also need to make sure that the comments that I give will make sure that it will help my partner so that there writing will improve. I also have to make sure and see that she has done her work so that I can tell her how she can improve.  I also have to make sure that we don't have any disagreements in our own perspectives and discuss the problem. We had a problem she had given me feedback and told me what to post but I had not done my work and so she did not look at it until Monday. I had finished the lit circle Sunday but we came on at different times we didn't have enough time to look at each other’s writing.

We all must have gained a different understanding of the novel because the other person has a different type of view of the book. You also learn how the person can understand the book which will give you a different way of the lit circles. You also may want to mix your way of writing with another person's own and that may help you improve by a lot. That person may have a better understanding of the book and that will be shown in there writing. My partner helped me because she showed a lot of personal connection that would help you shows more detail and evidence that it connects to your real world. If you give more personal connection you show that you know what you are connecting to and helps prove your understanding of this group. Another thing that could help you show your understanding of the book is word choice that shows you know the certain description's in the book that the writer is trying to tell you.

Overall working with a partner is better even thought you have to do your share of the work and give the same amount also the same amount of thought into it. You get to learn another way that someone writes his or her lit circle's which could help you improve your writing skills. I don't mean go copy them I mean mix it up your writing and their writing that way you can find a mix your writing if there method is better. You also look at how they still get more than require but still keep their writing entertaining.

Literature Circle Reflection

The discussion of this book helped me understand the book because people have different minds and different ways of thinking. Some people were able to see things that are important that other people would have missed and that thing that they missed could be import to know about in a book. You could also miss the conflict's ad and the building up action and you would get confused with the book. The discussion really helped by giving me more ways to look at the book. Discussing helps me confirms my I dear and thought's because others would have found some of the same things in the book. Discussions with other people helps me to understand the book better by giving your opinion and others agreeing or disagreeing and soon down with a answer to agree on. You get a better I dear of the book by a group of people discussing on the book in all different ways.

I reflected on how he had a collection of pictures that his dad has sent him and how he collect's them and it reminds him of his dad. I connected that I had a great uncle that died and one thing that reminded me of him is that he had a collection of cars. I connected well with Jacob because he hasn't seen his dad in a long time and I have not seen my great uncle in a long time. I also think that I connected with where his dad is right now my great uncle lived away and hardly ever got to see him. My other connection is about how you invite a friend over and you have it all planned out but then he is sick and he can't come. Jacob had that connection by the way his mom died she had plans and a lot of things to do but then she died. The day seemed like it was the same but all of a sudden things change in a big way. I think that the way Jacob reacted is much more seriously than a person would react over a friend coming over for the day and he has a lot more to react over.

I predict that he is going to need to get some more money and find a person that knows how to get to where his dad's camp is. He also needs to get out of the town he is in right now or some of the people will recognize him and will come after him and steal his bike back. He will also need to go and find some way to get money to pay for the hotel because they stole his money when they beat him up. He will face a lot of challenges when making his journey to his dad's camp. He may be too late to go and find his dad's camp because he mentioned that they move around a lot in Kenya. He will have to use some of those survival techniques if he wants to survive in Kenya because it is harsh environments. He is probably going to make it to his dad safe and safe a lot of animals.

I have told you my opinion of why discussions help people understand the novel that they read. I have included that my thought's and fact's about the discussions and how they help you in the future and right now. I have given evidence that I have connected with Jacob in the book and it is well connected with the book.
I have connected where Jacob took a big turn when his mom died it changed his whole life in a big way. I predicted that he will have some big challenges when he goes and tries to go and meet his dad even he does not even know where he is.

Guns Germs and Steel

What causes a country to have fewer resources even thought they have countries in the same region that have a lot of resources. Papa New Guinea is a good example they have Australia in the same region and they are a lot richer than Papa New Guinea.  Australia has more resources and a lot more people who give more jobs that make communities.

The Papa New Guinean peopled has such little resources compared to the Australians and the New Zealanders. The rich country of England was running out of places to put there slaves so they started sending their slaves to Australia. They pushed aside the native people of Australia and they English started to bring more and more slaves in from England. Soon they started letting go slaves and the slaves stayed in Australia and build up communities and businesses. At that time they had a lot more resources compared to the Papa New Guineans. The only reason why the Australians had more resources because of the people from England that came to Australia. The resources were ship from England that was made in England. The English Empire had enough labor in Australia that they were able to produce resources in Australia

Papa New Guinea is less developed than New Zealand and Australia because of the English coming in and taking over of Australia. There is a chance that the Papa New Guineans just do not want to be developed. In Australia there are a lot more room and places to people to go the English built communities. It could be caused by the English may have come and showed them modern things. They were scared of the high tech machines that the Englishmen came and showed them. In Papa New Guinea they have fewer resources which make them use more man work. If they are working all day they will never wonder about other things so they don't think of creation. They weren't able to think of anything other than work then they man any benefits in there life's.

Fire flies blog post

In these few paragraphs I will be explaining what it would like being a mud skipper when we went to plant our mangroves. I saw two men early in the morning the dropped off a few plants that look like my house. So after a while I saw them again and with a big crowd with other people. After a long while I saw the men pick a piece of wood. He started twisting the wood into the mud and made a big hole in the floor. He started ripping a cover that was on the plant I see those kinds of bags a lot around the swamp. Then he put's the plant in the hole and covers the sides and starts talking to the crowd.

The crowd starts lining up for something but they got it very quickly. They soon started walking towards me so I was skipping as fast as I could. The people were very slow and were slipping a lot then some of them started falling very close to my house and my family. They started getting faster and a big yellow thing that was on the crowd. Soon I was on the other side of the swamp jumping throw the trying to get away from the yellow thing. Then I was inside one of those yellow things that had a soft thing at the bottom and soon I was being thrown around the swamp. I could see that the crowd was coming close to me and all going the same way.

I was watching people slipping and falling and I was also being thrown around. Soon I was dumped out of the big yellow thing and dropped onto the dirt. Soon I had to go and dodge the entire crowd so that I don't get crushed. I also had to try and get back into the swamp so that I could go back into my house. So I tried to get back but there was still some of the crowd coming out from the swamp. I started going throw the crown then I was stuck on a boot and thrown far into the swamp. Then I had too go throw all of the mud to get back home. When I got home I said that was a dangerous and muddy day.

Bullying Blog Post #5

Taking advantage through physical, or mental abuse is wrong. Let me tell you about a bullying incidence that I wanted to stop but I was afraid that they would bully me. I was sitting down eating on the benches and a boy name Bob went to this kid named Rex. Bob went up to him and hit half of his sandwich onto the floor and demanded his lunch money. Rex did not want to get hurt so he gave Bob his money and looked at the floor for a while then looked up with a sad face. It wasn't long before Bob came back and knocked down Rex's sandwich again and said give more money. Rex said I have no more and told Bob to leave him alone. Bob took his wallet and told him that next time bring more for me if you want your wallet back. Lisa, a friend of Rex's came over and told Bob to leave Rex alone and get your own money and wallet. Bob yelled, "what are you going to do your only a girl".

In thinking back about this I wish I had the courage to do something about it. If more of us had felt this way maybe he would have stopped being such a bully. No one got up but I feel that many of us wanted to get up and tell him to leave Rex alone. Maybe I could have approach him later with a group of friends so that he would feel over powered. I would have gone with a group of friends to the principle and ask him to stop bulling Rex. I would also go and tell one of Rex's sibling and they would tell Bob to stop bulling their brother.

If I were in that position again I would go tell a teacher that Bob was taking his money. If I did something he may have stopped. Bob probably would go back to Rex and take his money again and no one would do any thing about it. Maybe he does not have a problem with Rex he might have anger from home and taking it out on people at school. Someone could call Bob's parents and tell them to talk to him about taking things that are not his is wrong. Also could be just having a bad day at home and at school so he taking it out on this one person.

My goals for this year are.
I will try not upsetting anyone so that they do not anger on someone else so that there is less bulling or even no bullying.
I will try and stop bullying when I see it around school so that there is less discomfort for the new people.

The Terrifying Task

I was at the edge of the cliff holding my breath. I looked over the cliff to see the ocean and it was a thirty foot drop. It seemed like a never ending fall into the black misty water that was rushing up against the cliffs edge.  There was a sudden rush of sea breeze that caused my body to shake although it was a hot sunny day .I was in a moment of doubt. I was very cautious and at the same time I made sure to be careful that my brother didn't push me into the dark water. My heart was racing and my legs were shaking and then another... sudden rush of sea breeze gave me goose bumps. I felt a groan in my stomach that was a weird feeling and I stood by the edge to look down with another feeling in doubt. Then I did one most daring things that I have done I jumped......and it felt like a never ending fall, the blood in my legs felt like it was racing up to my head.

I was in Krabi, Thailand for Christmas holidays. We went on a boat out to the Islands off of Krabi. We stopped at two different Islands before coming to this one which was the most popular. There were people jumping off the side of the huge cliff and after a long time there were some teenagers even doing back flips.  My brother wanted to go so I went too. We had to swim across a small bay to get to the rocks that lead to the cliff and the water was infested with sea ants. When I was swimming across I had a burning feeling on my body which would make constantly itch my body. When I got near to the cliffs I had to climb over some rocks to get on the top. It was easy for me to get up on the rocks but when I had to climb to the top there was loose dirt so I slipped a little.

When I came to the top it was a lot higher than it looked from below. It was scary and there were adults and teenagers that were there lined up waiting so I had to wait for them to  jump and  I had time to think. I was very scared so I went on to the smaller jump and then swam through the sea ants to the beach and I told my dad that it was too scary. Then my brother jumped off the cliff and so my dad said why don't you go try and jump because we don't have a lot of time. I went to try again then when I saw a person that was younger than me lining up to jump I felt more  pressured to jump so when I had my chance I jumped . The feeling of jump from high was weird it took three seconds for me to hit the water. There were tons of bubbles around me when I jump and opened my eyes in the dark green water. I had finally done it and had put the fear behind me.

Bp#3 Humanities

The artifacts can tell us that what kind of Rituals they celebrated in there time.It can also tell you what kind gods they were worshiping. Another thing that you can find out is what kind of knifes and and spears that they would use to kill a animals.People also found signs of people being social by looking at the bones and finding that the bones are injured and then healed bones from humans.

You could also tell what time the humans started using fires to cook meat by look at the animals bones that are burnt and if there is charcoal in the layers when you dig for the bones. You could find paint in the layers and see what they used for paint and what tools that used to paint with. You could also find how evolved the humans were at that time when found the bones of them were dug up and found. They think that ancient men working together to kill animals that they would hunt and eat for.

Social Scientist

I would like to be Geographer. I think by becoming a Geographer I would come to understanding the world better. I also would be able to see the some most incredible things and know how the enviorment works better. One of the biggest reasons that I would be a good a geographer is that I like to be outdoors and learning how the world is evolving now. But there is one thing that I want to understand is how us humans effect specific parts of the earth's processes. There is one major problem that does alot of  damage to the earth wich is carbon dioxide. Did you know that sixteen million new cars go the roads every year. Since the starting of the 20th century it was the hotest 9 years recorded in history.I have always been interested in the shows on national geographic and I would like to learn about the things that I seeon Natuional Geographic.
